Thanks Grandpa!!
This last weekend Grandpa came down to help Kaleb work on our garage project. They worked hard all day Sunday & got it about 75% done.....We're getting closer!! We're still hopeful to have this ready by Thanksgiving....Once we get the rest of the ceiling up, we can tape/texture the walls, and then get carpet put in!! I can't wait to have extra space :)
I love the confused faces...

Preschool Harvest Carnival
Today was Jackson's Preschool Harvest Carnival. He has been so excited about it all week! He got all dressed up in his racecar driver costume! Daddy was presenting at a conference today (Go Daddy!), so Aunt Kristin & I took the boys....We all had fun!
Jack showing me his racecar driver muscles :)
Colby Colb.....
Mommy & her boys at the carnival....
Jack with Mrs. Meier, the lady who runs the school. She had a miniature horse that was pulling us around! Colby & I rode in the back....He had a HUGE smile on his face the whole time!
Colby tried out the toys on the playground :)
Jack at the first booth...

Oh, I love this face.....He melts my heart!
Aunt Kristin & Colby having fun....
Mrs. Dalton (Jack's teacher) was "Professor Dalton" today at her booth. She had dry ice experiments to show the kids. It was really cool, because she used each one as an example of God's love. I was really impressed with the linking of science to God, especially at a preschool level.
I love this one...I caught Jack deep in thought about how this works!
Colby just loved this whole thing! He kept trying to catch the "bubbles"...

Getting our Pumpkins
Today we went to the Pumpkin Patch at Cal Poly Pomona. We didn't buy pumpkins when we went to Riley's Farms a few weeks ago, so we thought we'd get them now. We went with the Hughes Family & had a fun time! We got two good pumpkins too :)
The Hughes Family...
Kaleb carrying Jackson & Madisyn....
Jackson picked out 2 good pumpkins for us today! We'll probably wait to carve them for another week..

Colby was running around & then just put his hands on his head! It was so cute...
Colby loves Madisyn & walked around with her today :)

This Week in the Thompson House....
For some reason this week seemed really long! Kaleb survived parent/teacher conference week (I'm up this next week). Here are some random shots from the week...Today Kaleb bought Colby a beta fish. Colby really loves the fishie Nana has, and he has been wanting one of his own. Colby loves to look at him every chance he gets! He has been calling him "fishie" and "Nemo." I'm sure the fish will answer to either name :)

The boys one night this week each holding a kitten. We are still working on how to hold the kittens in a nice way :) lol...
Here is an art project the boys did at Kai's this week. The one on the right is Jack's :)
Abbey taking a nap on the table...
Abbey was all into the USC football game today (YES, he was meant for us!). Here he is attacking the USC Band :)

Jack studied the letter "P" this week. He took in his "pointer" finger he got at a teacher store with me this week :) He told me, "Mommy, I HAVE to have this." Love it...He did not however, want to do his homework this week. They don't require it & encourage parents not to make the kids do it if they don't want to. I don't exactly agree with that philosophy, but I figured it is just preschool, so he didn't do it. I was telling him how next year in Kinder, it won't be optional. He said, "Oh, I wish God would change that rule." I'm thinking God doesn't really had much say in the Kindergarten homework policies :) lol....

Disneyland
Disneyland gets the whole place decked out every Halloween, but for some reason, we've never gone! Today we thought would be a good day to try it out...Turns out it was really hot & CA Adventure wasn't as decorated up as we thought. We still had a fun couple of hours :)My lighting wasn't great on this one, but this is the Golden Gate Bridge decorated for Halloween. It was cute in person :)
They turned the "A" in the big CALIFORNIA letters out front, into a candy corn :)
Here are the boys in front of the candy corn patch...
We only rode two things today....The first was Monster's Inc. Colby wasn't too sure about it all!
There was a water fountain right around the Carousel, and Colby splashed & splashed!
We tried to get on Toy Story Mania, but the wait was an hour. So we decided to do the carousel. We have such good memories of this carousel when Jack was 2. He wanted to go on it again & again. I don't think we've even been to CA Adventure since that time. It reminded me of our life as a family of 3! I went back & found the pictures from this day..February of 2006. I would find out 5 days later that I was pregnant with Colby!
And here we were on the Monsters Inc ride that day....I can't believe how much Jack has changed in 2 1/2 years!
Here is our big boy today, at 4 1/2 yrs old, with his Daddy!

The letter of the week at preschool was "K" and Jack talked about his new "kittens" on Thursday :)Yesterday at Target, we found these cute slippers for cheap, so we got them for Colbers. Here is is yesterday wearing them when he got home! He happened to be wearing one of his Elmo shirts that day :)
And here he was this morning after waking up in his Elmo jammies...he wanted his "shoeshon" (shoes on) to match his jammies :) Then he walked 10 steps & wanted them off again :)
Here were the kitties tonight....all snuggled up with each other :)

Jude & Abbey Thompson
When I picked Jackson up from preschool today, here is how our conversation went: "Mommy, when you get home Daddy has a surprise for you! I can't tell you what it is. But here's a hint: It has four legs. And it starts with the sound "k." And it's kind of like a dog. Mommy, do you want a dog? How about 2 kittens? But I can't tell you." Don't you just love it?!!

When I got home I got an early birthday present--2 new kittens! They are "bruders" and are 4 months old! Their birthday is June 21st. Jack had named them "red" and "blue" but we worked on new names :) The kitten with the blue collar is named Jude. One of my top 5 favorite moments in life (beyond my engagement, wedding & births of my boys) was standing in the rain at 1am, singing at the top of my lungs "Hey Jude" as Paul McCartney played! It was a truly awesome experience. And to keep with the Beatles theme, we named the kitten with the red collar Abbey, for Abbey Road, a great Beatles album. I'm still working on middle names, which will most likely be USC related :)
They chase each other all over the place! It's really sweet...
This is Abbey...He is a little bigger & friendlier...

This is Jude!! He's a little more shy... Jude with the computer....
Jude put himself in time out already :)
The sleepy boys were hiding underneath Colby's bed taking a little nap :)
